Competition rules

Published 29 September 2026 · For competitions in the Solid Android app

Solid runs competitions you enter with Solid Points. These are the rules for every one of them. They form part of the Solid terms when you enter.

1. Who is running this

The promoter is Bitrora, registration number 2021/664757/07, of 0A Otto Du Plessis Drive, Bloubergstrand, Cape Town, 7441, South Africa. We are the sole sponsor.

Where somebody else supplies a prize, these rules and the competition name them. We remain responsible for running the competition either way.

2. Google and Solana Mobile are not involved

These competitions are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Google or by Solana Mobile, and neither is involved with them in any way. That includes a competition whose prize is a Solana Seeker phone: the phone is a prize we buy, not a promotion by the company that makes it. Questions come to us, at hello@sendsolid.app.

3. Who can enter

You can enter if you are 18 or over, from anywhere, unless the law where you are does not allow you to enter a competition like this one. If it does not, you cannot enter from there. That is about the law, not about you: Solid works the same everywhere and only the competitions are limited. We confirm a winner's age before handing over a prize.

Employees of the promoter, anybody supplying a prize, and their immediate families cannot enter.

One person, one entrant. Several wallets held by the same person count as one, and we will treat them as one if we find them.

4. How competitions work

Up to five are open at once. Each shows its prize, who is providing it, what it costs in points to enter, when it closes, and how many people have entered so far. Five is a limit we set and keep to. It is a short list you can read rather than something to scroll, and it means every competition on it has been looked at.

Points come from using Solid: being paid, paying somebody, a claim link you sent being claimed, a split completing. The Points screen shows what earns what, with the working beside it. A shop's takings earn nothing for its owner.

Every competition costs 100, 500 or 2,000 points, and it says which on the card. Three prices, always the same three, so you can tell at a glance what you are being asked for.

You can enter once your wallet has been in Solid Points for a week. Before that the entry button tells you when.

Entering spends the points. If a competition costs 500 points, 500 points come off your balance when you enter. They do not come back if you do not win. That is what entering means.

You choose. A balance of 600 points enters one 500-point competition or six 100-point ones, not both. What you enter is up to you and we never enter you into anything automatically.

One entry each, and everyone in has the same chance. You cannot buy a second entry, and no amount of points improves your odds inside a competition you have already entered. More points let you enter more competitions, or ones with better prizes. They never buy a better chance at the same prize.

Points cannot be bought. There is no price, no bundle, and no way to pay us for one. They cannot be transferred, sold, given away or exchanged for money.

We charge nothing to enter. Where you earned points by paying somebody, those were payments you were making anyway, to people you chose. The network fees went to the Solana network and never to us. We receive nothing from you at any point.

5. When each one runs

Every competition shows when it closes. Entry that arrives after it closes is not in it, whatever caused the delay. It is drawn within seven days of closing.

Your points do not expire. Whatever you have earned stays yours until you spend it on a competition. There is no deadline to use them by.

6. How the winner is chosen

Not by us picking, and not by a number we generate privately and ask you to trust.

  1. When entry closes we publish a hash of the sealed entry list. The list cannot change after that without the hash changing, and the hash is public before anybody knows the seed.
  2. We name a future Solana slot. Its blockhash is the seed. Nobody knows it yet, and that includes us: it does not exist until the slot is produced.
  3. After the slot passes we publish the entry list, the seed, and the code that selects from it. You can run it yourself and land on the same winner. If you land on a different one, we are wrong and we will say so.

Where a competition has more than one prize they are drawn one at a time, and a wallet already drawn is taken out before the next selection, so one entrant cannot take the whole thing.

7. Your odds

Everyone who entered a competition has the same chance. Your odds are one divided by the number of entrants. We show the entry count while it is open, so you can see what you are joining before you spend anything, and we publish the final count with the entry list and the seed, so it can be checked afterwards rather than taken on trust.

No cash alternative, and a prize cannot be swapped for something else. If we genuinely cannot supply one, including because it cannot be shipped to where the winner is, we will substitute a prize of the same or greater value and say why.

Where prizes come from

Every competition is ours. We choose it, we set what it costs to enter, and we run the draw. Nobody can buy their way onto this list.

Sometimes a prize is provided by somebody else, a business we work with, and where that is the case the competition says who provided it. They still do not run the draw, do not see who entered, and have no say in what it costs to enter.

If a prize does not arrive, it is ours to fix, whoever provided it. See section 9.

9. If a competition does not run

If we have to cancel one, or it is compromised (the seed is unusable, the entry list is wrong, the selection cannot be reproduced), the points everybody spent go back to their balances, and we say publicly what happened. We would rather refund and re-run in the open than ship a result we cannot stand behind.

If somebody who was providing a prize fails to, that is our problem and not yours. We will supply a prize of the same or greater value, or return the points everybody spent. You entered a competition we published, so we are the ones who owe you the outcome.

10. If you win

Within seven days of the draw we announce the winning wallet in the app and on this page. The winner then has 14 days to claim, by signing a message from that wallet in the app, which proves the wallet is theirs.

If the prize is not claimed in time, it goes to the next wallet in the published selection order, which has the same 14 days. That order is in the same published file as the seed, so a re-draw is not us choosing again.

A token prize goes to the wallet that entered. It is already proven yours, because you signed a message to join Solid Points, so there is nothing further to do.

Anything physical needs a name and a delivery address. We ask for those only from winners, only after the draw, and keep them only as long as delivery and our tax records require. We never ask for them to enter.

Above certain values we may have to confirm your identity before handing over a prize, and in some places report it. We will tell you if that applies before you send anything.

A prize may be taxable where you live. That is between you and your tax authority. We cannot advise you about it and will not try.

11. What we hold about you

Joining Solid Points stores your wallet address and what it has earned. Entering a competition adds which ones you entered and when, and if you win something physical, a delivery address.

We do not store amounts, and we do not keep who you paid for longer than working out the points needs. The privacy policy says the same and is the fuller version.

We keep competition records for three years after a competition closes. An audit trail that can be deleted on request is not an audit trail. You can leave Solid Points whenever you like, from Settings → Privacy → Delete my Solid data, and we will sever your account from the ledger: the history stays, detached, with nobody attached to it. If you are in a competition that has closed and not yet been drawn, that waits for the draw, because its entry list is sealed.

12. Changes

We can change or cancel a competition if we have to, and we will publish why. We will not change these rules after entry opens in any way that makes an entry somebody already paid for worth less. Once anybody has entered a competition, its price and its dates are fixed.

13. Law

These rules are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa and by its courts, the same law and courts as the Solid terms. Nothing here removes a right you have under the law where you live that cannot be contracted out of.

14. Getting a copy

These rules are at sendsolid.app/competitions for the whole entry period, and we will send them to you free if you ask at hello@sendsolid.app.
